Welcome to the website for the Lower Makefield-Yardley Republican Committee. Our organization is the official home of your Republican Committeepersons. There are 30 committee seats in LMT and 2 in Yardley Borough. Our leadership team includes 7 Bucks County Executives who help oversee polling place activities on election days and coordinate committeepersons to whom they are assigned.
As Republicans, we believe strongly in smaller and more efficient government, lower taxes and safety. We stand firmly against the onslaught of immorality and socialism/communism brought on by Leftist ideologues. We are true to the US Constitution and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
We are concerned with profligate school board spending that drives up everyone’s property taxes. We expect the Pennsbury School Board, Yardley Borough Council, Lower Makefield Township Supervisors to be efficient, transparent and to hold the line on taxes.
Republicans who Stay Home Elect Democrats
This has been our Get-Out-the-Vote theme since I became chair in 2019. Far too many Republicans only vote for presidential, Senatorial and Congressional elections, thus missing primary and general elections every two years. When I knock on doors to increase our turnout, it’s shocking how many Republicans pay no attention to community “off-cycle” elections. That said, we’ve made great strides because LMT’s off-cycle turnout has doubled in 4 years. However, in LMT, we need over 1,000 more Republicans to vote in off-cycle elections if we are ever going to win seats on our all-Democrat Pennsbury School Board and our all-Democrat Board of Supervisors. Hard facts:
1) the Democrats in LMT have about a 1,000-vote advantage over our party even though our turnout and theirs were equal in November 2021. For every Republican who moves out of LMT, most are replaced by Democrats. Then there are the new, higher-density communities that our local government has allowed to crop up – most of those dwellers are Democrats.
2) Mail-in voting has greatly increased Democrat turnout in all elections. Sadly and absurdly, many Republicans who’ve been missing elections refuse to use mail-in voting yet still don’t turnout in person on election days. That’s why our Committee has been, and continues to be, focused on getting these voters to use mail-in balloting until we take control of the governorship and change that dreadful, unconstitutional law.
Despite this, we’ve doubled our voter turnout and we will continue the fight because it is possible to win local elections in the future. We only need to look to the success that Yardley Borough Republicans have had in an even higher-percentage Democrat town, winning seats for Mayor, Constable and Council.
Our hopes for future Republican wins in LMT are realistic – but much work remains to be done. On a winning note: Bucks County elected 5 Republicans to County Row offices in November 2021. That would have been impossible if our Republican turnout in LMT had not doubled.

Our committee meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm in a location that we announce to registered Republicans who subscribe to our email list. You can subscribe below. Make sure you are a registered Republican because we check! No matter how conservative you are, our bylaws prevent non-Republicans from attending our meetings without the permission of the chair, which is only granted for extraordinary one-off occasions.
